Judith Salomon’s porcelain installation is composed of 13 grouped circles. Not having a background in music, Salomon may have subconsciously picked up on the first movement’s 13 phrases of 13 measures each. To each circle, she applied abstract drawings directly influenced by the score. She took her fascination with shorthand to create a new visual language based on musical notes.
